I punk club (The Sidebar) closed down in my hometown of Baltimore during covid, which sucked. I don't think gentrification is an issue with Baltimore. There are still plenty of affordable locations. There's also the issue of DJ's replacing live bands everywhere. Even when there is a club, they just have DJ's a lot of nights. I'm not dying to go out an see someone spinning records.
